Understand Portions

I was recently reading a weight loss success story where the man found his portions were enormous and once he made them realistic, the weight came off. He was eating a 1/2 pound of pasta — OMG
Portion control is one of the best ways to lose weight. It is also one of the hardest thing to do. A portion of pasta is 1/2 cup of cooked pasta, not a HUGE plateful that some restaurants offer (just so you know, some restaurant sizes of pasta are more than 1000 calories!) By learning what a “real” cookie is as opposed to a GIANT cookie from the mall, you can dramatically cut your daily calorie intake and lose weight.
