Donuts for Breakfast?? Think AGAIN!

The average donut has 260 calories. That is equal to a cup of oatmeal, an orange and 2 low-fat turkey sausages — which breakfast will keep you going until lunch?

Strength Training Mistakes

If you lift weights and use the wrong tempo, you could be risking injury or at the very least, not giving your body the best workout.   A good tempo for most people has a longer eccentric phase.  This is the phase where most muscle building occurs.  If you have hypertension, you need to avoid an isometric phase and should limit the concentric phase.  So, if you lift it and lower it as fast as you can, you could do better.   If you are unfamiliar with tempos, drop by and see me.

Record Your Measurements

Sometimes when you are dieting and working out, the scale does not move. Use your clothes and your measurements on those weeks when you do not see changes on the scale. Weigh yourself no more than once per week.

Enjoy what you eat!!

Controlling your diet is not about eating things you don’t like. You need to eat foods that you enjoy in order to make a permanent change.
