Kids and Fitness

There is a serious problem in the US today with kids who are overweight and obese. While it is VERY important to ensure your kids are eating sensibly, you MUST stress physical activity with kids. A sensible diet will allow them to grow up healthy. Physical activity will help them slim down.

If you are thinking of Sports for your child, remember what Wade Boggs said about baseball “Baseball is fun, I love it” Fun is key with kids. Push too hard and they will push back. Make it fun and let them enjoy it.

Night Eating

A lot of my clients are telling me how hard it is to control cravings and hunger in the evening. Night hunger can be a result of dehydration (are you just thirsty?) or not keeping your blood sugar stable throughout the day by eating regular meals and snacks at regular intervals. The other MAIN cause (and you won’t want to hear this) is BOREDOM….. are you just bored and feeling snacky??

My suggestions are:
1) Have a big glass of water — you may be just thirsty
2) try to eat at regular intervals throughout the day
3) decide if boredom (and TV watching) are a main hunger driver
4) If they do finally decide that a snack is NEEDED (not WANTED), try some raw veggies or fruit.

Water — Drink it!!!

Good health and fitness are AWESOME goals — however, an EASY THING that ANYONE CAN do RIGHT NOW is to drink more water. It will help your overall health, help you with fighting hunger, help you lose weight. It also is great for your body, you digestion, your skin.

Nutrition — Missing Link to Weight Loss

I find myself saying this MANY TIMES per day!! So, let me say it here…..Nutrition is a critical part of weight loss. SO CRITICAL that it accounts for at least 70% of your weight loss efforts…. Use good nutrition along with cardio and strength training and you will be on your road to a thinner you!

Tomorrow is Monday!! Lots of people attack their life on Monday — like it isnt busy enough…. this week they are gonna exercise, this week they are starting a diet, etc
